About the role
We’re looking for an energetic and coachable Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our sales team. In this fully outbound role, you’ll be the first point of contact for potential customers, introducing SmartBarrel, uncovering pain points, and booking qualified meetings for Account Executives.
This is a high\-energy, high\-impact role for someone who thrives in fast\-paced environments, is excited by challenges, and wants to grow their career in sales at an early\-stage startup.
What you will be doing
* Prospect, identify, and engage decision\-makers at construction companies through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other channels
* Work closely with Account Executives to book discovery calls and support sales pipeline growth
* Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date activity records in HubSpot CRM
* Track performance metrics and consistently hit activity and meeting goals
* Support and partner on marketing campaigns to ensure high levels of prospect engagement
* Take part in regular coaching sessions, sales trainings, and role\-plays to hone your skills
* Participate in team brainstorming and feedback loops to improve messaging and outreach
* Periodically attend Tradeshows across North America and engage potential clients
What you'll need
* A positive mindset, hunger to learn, and coachability
* 1\+ years of outbound prospecting or cold calling experience (internships and SDR experience welcome)
* Construction industry knowledge or curiosity is a huge asset, but not required
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Resilience in the face of rejection and a love for solving problems
* A self\-starter mentality with the discipline to work independently
* Comfortable navigating tools like HubSpot, LinkedIn, and ZoomInfo
