**HR Manager** – Dogwood Brands (Supercuts Franchisee) **Location**: Remote (Preferred residents of AZ, NV or TX) **Company**: Dogwood Brands (Supercuts Franchisee) **Employment Type:** Full\-Time **About the Role** Are you a seasoned HR professional with a deep understanding of California labor laws and a passion for supporting a high\-energy, multi\-state workforce? Dogwood Brands is seeking a dynamic HR Manager to oversee human resources operations for our 50 franchised Supercuts salons across California, Nevada, and Arizona.As we continue to deliver exceptional service and grow our team, you will be the backbone of our people operations—ensuring compliance, managing benefits and payroll, and leading our recruitment efforts to find the best talent in the industry.Key Responsibilities * **HR Compliance**: Ensure all salons remain compliant with federal and state\-specific labor laws, with a heavy emphasis on California’s complex regulatory environment (wage and hour, leaves of absence, and workplace safety). * **Benefits Administration**: Manage and optimize our employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), and wellness initiatives across all three states. * **Payroll Oversight**: Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely processing for a large, multi\-state hourly and salaried workforce. * **Hiring \& Talent Acquisition**: Lead the full\-cycle recruitment process, from drafting job descriptions to onboarding, ensuring our 50 locations are fully staffed with top\-tier stylists and managers. * **Employee Relations**: Act as a trusted advisor to salon managers and staff, resolving conflicts and fostering a positive, professional workplace culture. **Qualifications** * **Experience**: 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi\-unit retail, hospitality, or franchise environment. * **California Expertise**: Strong working knowledge of California HR compliance and labor law is strongly preferred. * **Education**: BA in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. * **Certifications**: PHR, SPHR, or SHRM\-CP/SCP certification is a plus. **Skills** * Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software * Exceptional communication and "Secret Service" level interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high levels of accountability. * Residency: We prefer a resident of Arizona, Nevada or Texas, but are open to residents of other states. **What We Offer** * Competitive Salary: Commensurate with experience. * Comprehensive Benefits: Including health, dental, vision, PTO. * Remote Work: The flexibility to work from home while supporting a thriving multi\-state business. * Growth: The opportunity to be a key leader in a growing franchisee organization.
