Job Description
Plixer Implementation Engineers are the technical experts who guide our customers from signed contract to a live, validated deployment of our network intelligence platform. As an Implementation Engineer, you bring hands\-on deployment experience and the confidence to own customer engagements end\-to\-end — from kickoff through go\-live — without requiring day\-to\-day supervision.
This is an ownership\-focused role. You'll lead standard to moderate\-complexity deployments independently, serve as the primary technical point of contact for your customers, and contribute to the broader team through mentorship and playbook improvements. Advancement to Senior IE is based on demonstrated architectural depth, enterprise readiness, and cross\-functional impact.
What You'll Do
* Own the full deployment lifecycle. Lead customer deployments end\-to\-end — from pre\-deployment kickoff through go\-live and handoff — without requiring day\-to\-day oversight
* Drive pre\-deployment readiness. Conduct kickoff calls, validate technical requirements, and confirm environment readiness prior to deployment start
* Configure and validate Plixer components. Configure collectors, replicators, and reporting components across standard and HA (high\-availability) topologies
* Ensure data integrity. Validate data ingestion pipelines, flow collection accuracy, and system health throughout deployment
* Manage risk and timeline. Identify deployment risks proactively and develop mitigation plans before they impact go\-live timelines
* Lead UAT. Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with customers, clearly documenting outcomes and resolution of open items
* Be the customer's technical anchor. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during active deployments, communicating clearly and professionally
* Bridge Sales and Services. Coordinate the Sales\-to\-Services handoff, ensuring scoping requirements are accurately translated into deployment plans
* Document everything. Deliver thorough deployment documentation — configuration notes, environment summaries, and go\-live records — for every engagement
* Contribute to team growth. Mentor Implementation Engineer I team members and contribute improvements to deployment playbooks and internal knowledge resources
* Enable clean handoffs. Collaborate with Support and Field Engineering teams to ensure a smooth, well\-documented handoff post\-deployment
What You Bring
Experience
* 2–4 years of experience in deployment engineering, systems engineering, network engineering, or technical services
* Demonstrated track record of owning customer\-facing technical projects independently from initiation through completion
* Experience troubleshooting and resolving deployment issues in SaaS or cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)
* Deployment experience with hypervisor platforms (VMware, Hyper\-V, KVM)
Technical Skills
* Strong Linux administration — service configuration, log analysis, process management, and system troubleshooting
* Solid networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, IP routing, SNMP, and flow\-based protocols (NetFlow, IPFIX, or sFlow)
* Familiarity with high\-availability architectures and distributed system deployments
* Familiarity with server hardware configuration and deployment
* Experience with web application stacks (Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL) is a plus
* Exposure to Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) is a plus
* Exposure to Bash, Perl, or Python scripting for deployment automation or diagnostics is a plus
* Prior experience with a network monitoring, security intelligence, or flow analytics platform is a plus
Mindset \& Communication
* A strong ownership mentality — you take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks
* Polished customer communication skills; you can run a technical meeting, set expectations, and de\-escalate when needed
* Structured, methodical troubleshooting approach — able to isolate problems systematically and document resolution paths clearly
* Collaborative by nature; you proactively loop in the right people and leave teams better than you found them
* Self\-directed and reliable in a remote environment — you manage your own schedule and escalate appropriately
Schedule \& Work Model
* Full\-time, remote (U.S.\-based)
* Standard business hours with flexibility for customer deployment windows as needed
Nice to Have
* Degree or certification in a relevant field (e.g., BS in Computer Science, Cisco CCNA/CCNP)
* Experience in a Professional Services or Implementation Engineering role at a B2B SaaS company
* Familiarity with deployment tooling, ticketing systems, or project management platforms
Pay: $60,000\.00 \- $65,000\.00 per year
Benefits:
* 401(k)
* Dental insurance
* Health insurance
* Paid time off
* Retirement plan
* Vision insurance
