Inside Sales Engineer

Alexis Fire Equipment Company is seeking an experienced Inside Sales Engineer to support our dealer network by preparing accurate quotations and pricing for custom fire apparatus. This role is heavily focused on developing detailed proposals using Quote Writer software. Candidates must be highly proficient in Quote Writer and have demonstrated experience using the platform to configure vehicles, build option packages, and generate complete pricing proposals. ***Quote Writer experience is an absolute requirement for this position. Applicants without direct, hands\-on Quote Writer experience will not be considered.*** The ideal candidate will combine technical aptitude, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to support dealers and sales representatives throughout the quoting and sales process. **Essential Responsibilities** * Prepare complete and accurate quotations for custom fire apparatus using Quote Writer. * Build specifications, configure options, and generate detailed pricing proposals. * Review customer bid specifications, RFPs, and technical requirements. * Work directly with dealers and sales representatives to develop apparatus solutions that meet customer needs. * Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, and production to confirm pricing and technical feasibility. * Update and revise quotations as specifications evolve during the sales cycle. * Maintain Quote Writer pricing databases, option structures, and templates. * Ensure all quotations align with Alexis product offerings and manufacturing capabilities. * Provide technical and pricing support to dealers in a timely manner. * Maintain organized records of quotations and proposal activity. **Required Qualifications** * Direct, hands\-on experience using Quote Writer software. * Minimum of 3 years of experience creating quotations and pricing using Quote Writer. * Strong technical and mechanical aptitude. * Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and technical documents. * Excellent organizational and communication skills. * High attention to detail and accuracy. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience in the fire apparatus, emergency vehicle, or specialty truck manufacturing industry. * Knowledge of NFPA 1900 standards. * Engineering degree or technical education in mechanical, industrial, or related fields. * Experience working with dealer networks and custom\-built products. **Compensation and Benefits** Alexis Fire Equipment offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and the opportunity to work remotely. **Why Join Alexis Fire Equipment?** Since 1947, Alexis Fire Equipment has built premium custom fire trucks for departments throughout North America.
