**About the role:**
**Type:** Full Time Hourly
**Compensation:** $25/hr
**Location:** Fully Remote, must be in the United States
**Hours:** Full Time Days

**What to Expect:**
The primary function of this position is to perform ICD10\-CM HCC coding of Matrix Health Assessments. This position will review and analyze medical documentation, and assign ICD10\-CM codes which determine reimbursement and enter ICD10\-CM codes into computer tracking system. **Essential Duties \& Responsibilities*** Code Assignment \& Validation
* + Review medical records to determine the correct diagnosis and procedure codes based on documentation.
+ Verify the accuracy, completeness, and specificity of all assigned codes to ensure compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.
+ Apply coding conventions and guidelines established by CMS, AMA, and AHA.
* Data Integrity \& Quality Assurance
* + Maintain coding accuracy and productivity levels as defined by assigned tier metrics.
+ Conduct data entry using coding databases and EHR systems while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of patient information.
+ Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to resolve documentation or coding discrepancies.
* Compliance \& Continuous Improvement
* + Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
+ Stay current on updates to ICD\-10, CPT, and payer\-specific coding requirements.
+ Participate in coding audits and provide feedback to improve clinical documentation and coding accuracy.
+ Identify and escalate potential compliance risks to management.
* Administrative \& Other Duties
* + Contribute to the development of best practices and process improvement initiatives.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
**Education*** High School Diploma or equivalent required.
* Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
**Experience*** Minimum 1–3 years of professional coding experience in a healthcare setting (ambulatory, hospital, or payer environment).
* Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and coding software systems.
**Certifications*** Active certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent credential required.
* Additional credentials (e.g., CRC, COC, or CPMA) preferred.
**Competencies \& Skills*** Strong knowledge of ICD\-10\-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR platforms.
* Excellent data entry and keyboarding accuracy.
* Strong analytical, decision\-making, and problem\-solving skills.
* Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
* Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
* Ability to work independently and meet productivity standards in a deadline\-driven environment.
**Work Environment*** Primarily remote, with occasional on\-site meetings or training as required.
* Standard business hours with flexibility based on operational needs.
* Requires prolonged periods of computer use.
