Middle School Academic Tutor (ELA & Math 6- 8th grade)

Intellectually Us is an education company established to address the gaps in education resources for minoritized and underserved youth. One of the ways we do this is by providing affordable tutoring services to youth in grades k\- 12\. Our tutor services place an emphasis on cultural representation and the empowerment of students to advocate for themselves in educational settings. IU is looking for individuals with a background and passion for education to join our tutor village. IU tutors are thoroughly trained to be inclusive of minority cultures and normalize representation within their curriculum. IU tutors are also trained in the ability to teach and encourage self\-advocacy that will empower their students to use their voice and become the leader of their own academic journey. Fully Remote CORE VALUES Our core values are accessibility, representation, and self\-advocacy. IU tutors will be responsible for providing direct services to participants. Tutors will be responsible for coordinating their tutor schedules with parents, creating lesson plans for their students, and maintaining notes on their students’ progress. Tutors will participate in continuous training that helps them effectively incorporate representation and self\-advocacy into their lesson plans. All IU tutors must pass a background check.
