**Description** ### **POSITION DESCRIPTION****:** We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join our Grid \& Energy Services team and bring strong experience designing large\-scale distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have hands\-on experience in architecture and ensure high quality code. Ideally 8\+ years working heavily with Python and Azure. You will work closely with tam across our new Grid \& Energy Services division. ### **LOCATION \& WORK ARRANGEMENT** **This role is remote, however, the candidate(s) will be expected to relocate at their own expense to our onsite Houston location by** ***Q1 in 2027\**** * Q1 2027 is an approximate timeframe and is subject to change at any time ### **RESPONSIBILITIES** * Design end\-to\-end technical solutions for grid and energy platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. * Partner with engineering, product, and customer stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical architecture. * Define system architecture across cloud services, APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems. * Guide implementation teams on best practices for cloud\-native design, security, and integration patterns. * Support customer engagements, including technical discussions, solution design, and deployment planning. * Ensure alignment with reliability, observability, and performance standards in collaboration with SRE and QA teams. * Contribute to continuous improvement of architecture standards, documentation, and reusable design patterns. ### **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** * 8\+ years of experience in solutions architecture, software engineering, or related technical roles. * Strong experience designing with Python \& deploying cloud\-based systems (Azure). * Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and event\-driven architectures. * Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions. * Strong communication skills with experience working cross\-functionally and with external stakeholders. * Experience with modern software development practices, including CI/CD and cloud\-native design. ### **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** * Experience in energy systems, utilities, or infrastructure\-related platforms. * Experience with customer\-facing architecture or pre\-sales engineering. * Knowledge of observability, reliability, and SRE best practices. * Exposure to AI/ML\-enabled systems or data\-driven platforms. * Travel up to 10% or business needs.
