**Technical Lead**

Blu Omega is seeking a Technical Lead to support a federal program focused on public health data modernization. This role operates within a remote environment and is responsible for leading the design and implementation of interoperable public health data exchange and AI solutions. The position requires experience supporting public health informatics, data exchange standards, and modernization efforts within a mission\-driven environment.

**Mission overview:** Supporting modernization of public health data exchange and interoperability for public health agencies using health IT standards and interoperable systems
**Key Details:**
Location: Remote
Clearance: Public Trust Eligible
Work Authorization: US Citizen
**Responsibilities:*** Lead the technical design and execution of data exchange, interoperability, and AI/ML solutions supporting surveillance, reporting, and analytics for public health use cases
* Oversee quality assurance, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues across the technology stack
* Guide architects, engineers, analysts, and informaticists in translating client needs into technical approaches
* Support application of interoperability standards such as HL7 v2, FHIR, CDA, APIs, and terminology systems within public health contexts
* Lead technical discussions, design sessions, and reviews; document decisions, assumptions, and dependencies
* Review technical deliverables for scope, requirements, and quality compliance
* Identify technical considerations related to integration, security, privacy, onboarding, and data sharing; discuss mitigation options with the team
* Support integration testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities when applicable
* Share technical knowledge and lessons learned; mentor junior staff
**Required Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s Degree
* At least four (4\) years of experience serving in a Technical Lead role
* Experience assisting clients in modernizing and implementing technology solutions (Cloud, AI, analytics, data management)
* Knowledge of the tech stack, including infrastructure, UI/UX, analytics, and system maintenance
* Ability to document system integration and support flow analysis; review detailed technical documentation
* Public health informatics experience in surveillance, epidemiology workflows, and public health operations
* Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non\-technical audiences
* Analytical thinking and problem\-solving skills
* Experience with public health data exchange and interoperability across various systems and partners
* Working knowledge of public health standards and artifacts (e.g., HL7 v2, CDA, FHIR)
**Preferred Qualifications:*** Experience in generative AI and agentic research methods
* Deep knowledge of public health standards and artifacts (e.g., HL7 v2, CDA, FHIR)
**Salary Range:** $100,000–$150,000
*Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.*
