Adjudicator for Music

Competition AdjudicatorVirtual Solo \& Ensemble Festival Competition The Music Note is seeking experienced music educators and professional musicians to serve as adjudicators for our Virtual Solo \& Ensemble Festival Competition for students in grades 1–12\. Adjudicators will evaluate prerecorded performances, provide thoughtful written feedback, assign ratings and scores using the competition rubric, and participate in the selection of scholarship prize recipients. Responsibilities * Review assigned solo and ensemble performance videos. * Evaluate each performance fairly and consistently using the provided scoring rubric. * Provide constructive, age\-appropriate written feedback. * Identify both strengths and areas for continued growth. * Submit completed evaluations by the established deadline. * Maintain the confidentiality of all student information, recordings, scores, and results. * Disclose any personal or professional relationship with an entrant that could create a conflict of interest. * Participate in final voting for scholarship prize recipients, when requested. Qualifications Applicants should meet one or more of the following qualifications: * Hold a degree in music, music education, performance, conducting, or a related field. * Have substantial professional performance or teaching experience. * Possess strong knowledge of technique, musicianship, interpretation, and age\-appropriate performance expectations. * Be able to provide encouraging, specific, and educational feedback. * Have experience adjudicating competitions, festivals, auditions, or juries preferred. Adjudicators may be selected according to their primary area of expertise, including: * Voice * Piano * Strings * Brass * Woodwinds * Percussion * Harp * Chamber music and ensembles Position Details * **Position:** Independent Contractor * **Format:** Fully virtual * **Organization:** The Music Note, LLC * **Compensation:** Provided based on the number of assigned entries * **Schedule:** Evaluations may be completed remotely within the designated adjudication period.
