Job Description

**$50–$70/hour · about 5–20 hours a week, flexing with campaign cycles · remote (U.S.) · part\-time contract** You make the files: brochures, flyers, event signage, referral packets, and social and email graphics for a Southern California psychiatric practice. Brand standards, photography, and print vendors are already in place. You own the layout from brief to press\-ready PDF. **About the Role** Pacific Mind Health is hiring a Graphic Designer to own print and digital production across our marketing, clinical\-education, and community programs. This is a production role: you are a trained designer with real foundations in typography, layout, and color, fluent in Adobe InDesign and Canva, and comfortable owning a file from brief to press\-ready export. Your primary point of contact is our Marketing Manager, who supplies briefs, brand standards, photography, and print\-vendor contacts. We are an AI\-first marketing team. Experience with AI design and production tools is a plus, not a requirement; what matters most is print craft, brand discipline, and the judgment to know when any output is not good enough to ship. **What You’ll Do** **Print Design and Production (core)** * Design and produce press\-ready assets: brochures, tri\-folds, flyers, postcards, event signage, referral\-partner packets, and patient\-education materials * Set up and export files to vendor specifications: bleeds, margins, CMYK, resolution, and the right export format (PDF/X\-1a or equivalent); preflight before every handoff * Coordinate proofing rounds with print vendors and flag issues before a run goes to press * Maintain a master InDesign template library, and build repeatable workflows for location, service\-line, and event\-series variants, so updates are fast and brand\-consistent **Digital Design** * Produce email headers and banners, website graphics, social graphics, and digital ad creative * Build and maintain a Canva Brand Kit with locked templates the marketing team can use independently for routine social posts * Adapt layouts between print and digital, and resize across aspect ratios and platform specs, quickly and accurately **Brand Stewardship** * Be the day\-to\-day keeper of the Pacific Mind Health visual brand: flag off\-brand usage and outdated assets, and update templates as standards evolve * Maintain an organized shared asset library (logos, photography, approved graphics, fonts) the whole marketing team can use, and archive final and source files at project close **Working with AI Output** * Use AI where it speeds up production if you like: Adobe Firefly and generative fill for image extension and cleanup, Canva Magic Studio for fast variants and resizing, image models for concepting, and Claude or GPT\-class assistants for turning briefs into specs and drafting alt text. **How Work Flows** * Briefs are shared through a standard intake; routine assets are typically delivered within 3–5 business days, and rush work is scoped at intake * New concepts get two directions; one revision round is the default, and anything beyond that is scoped and agreed before you start * You manage your own queue across concurrent projects and communicate early when a timeline is at risk * Our stack: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Firefly · Canva (Brand Kit, team workspace, Magic Studio) · Claude or a comparable AI assistant (optional) · Google Slides and Drive. InDesign and Canva are required; the rest are used as projects call for them. Status and deliverables are shared through Asana, and source files are delivered in Adobe or Canva native formats **Required Qualifications** * 3\+ years of professional graphic design experience with a portfolio that includes print work (brochures, flyers, multi\-page layouts), not only social graphics * Expert\-level Adobe InDesign, including press\-ready setup and export (bleeds, slug, CMYK, vendor\-specific PDF settings) * Strong working proficiency in Canva, including Brand Kit setup, template locking, and team\-workspace management * Solid command of typography, layout hierarchy, and grid\-based design; your work is clean and structured * Organized file management: layered, labeled source files another designer could pick up **Preferred Qualifications** * Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, including light photo editing and retouching for team headshots and event photography * Experience designing for healthcare, wellness, or other regulated or professional\-services environments where accuracy and trust are part of the visual language * Hands\-on experience with AI\-assisted design tools (Adobe Firefly, Canva Magic Studio, or comparable) in real production work * Working knowledge of HTML/CSS email design or HubSpot email template formatting **About Pacific Mind Health** Pacific Mind Health is one of Southern California’s leading psychiatric practices, offering advanced treatments including TMS therapy, SPRAVATO®, psychiatry, and psychotherapy across Long Beach, West Los Angeles, and Irvine, with virtual appointments available throughout California. Our mission is to deliver exceptional, patient\-centered mental health care through innovation, compassion, and evidence\-based treatment. Work with us to help people Feel Better. Live Better. Pay: $50\.00 \- $70\.00 per hour Expected hours: 5\.0 – 20\.0 per week Application Question(s): * Portfolio link (URL or PDF). We are looking for print work: brochures, flyers, multi\-page layouts. * In a typical week, which do you work in more (InDesign or Canva)? Can you provide a percentage of usage for each in a week?
