Mid-Level SQL Server Database Administrator

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A completed bachelor's degree is required.** **VFI Solutions is recruiting a Mid\-Level SQL Server Database Administrator for a proposed federal database support contract. VFI is sourcing candidates for this role with our teaming partner, B360 (BizSolutions 360\), which will be the W\-2 employer. This full\-time position is contingent on contract award and customer approval. Anticipated start: November 16, 2026\.** WORK ARRANGEMENT Fully remote within the United States. Availability for eight hours each workday within 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Eastern Time is required, with occasional scheduled after\-hours maintenance. Staff must be available through Microsoft Teams while on duty. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * At least four years of experience in database administration. * Hands\-on expertise with SQL Server, SQL, SQL Clustering, and SQL Scripting, plus Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access. This is a multi\-platform environment; resumes should clearly document experience with each technology. * Proven ability to create and manage standalone Oracle and SQL databases, triage incidents, maintain servers, install and patch software, maintain high availability, and execute disaster recovery. * Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and communicate effectively with technical staff and management. RESPONSIBILITIES * Design and automate database provisioning and configuration. * Develop backup policies and test disaster recovery and point\-in\-time recovery. * Plan and lead patching cycles. * Tune database performance using measurements and diagnostic data. * Implement and test high\-availability failovers. * Tune alerts and build monitoring dashboards. * Implement database encryption and auditing controls. * Develop robust scripts and infrastructure automation. * Lead troubleshooting and root\-cause analysis. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Current Oracle or SQL professional certifications are strongly preferred. Experience with ServiceNow, Idera, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Datadog/Dynatrace, and cloud database environments is valuable. Prior federal background investigation or public\-trust experience is preferred; no current security clearance is required.
