Job Description

Video Editor — NeuGravity **Location:** Remote / Hybrid **Type:** Full\-time / Freelance / Contract **Experience:** 1–4 years **Industry:** AI **Technology** Education **Content** Brand: **NeuGravity** Our goal is simple: Take something technically complicated and make it so simple and engaging that anyone can understand it. We are building content primarily for **YouTube and short\-form platforms**, with a strong focus on storytelling, visuals, motion graphics and practical examples. What We're Looking For We are looking for a **creative Video Editor** who can turn a raw talking\-head recording \+ screen recording \+ script into a polished, engaging technology video. You should have a strong sense of: **Storytelling → Pacing → Visuals → Motion → Sound → Retention** This isn't just a “cut the pauses and add subtitles” job. We want someone who can ask: “The speaker is explaining this concept — what should the viewer SEE at this exact moment?” That's the mindset we're looking for. What You Will Do1\. YouTube Long\-Form Videos Edit technology/AI videos typically ranging from: **8–25 minutes** You will: * Edit talking\-head footage * Remove unnecessary pauses and mistakes * Improve pacing * Add B\-roll * Add screen recordings * Add relevant images/videos * Create visual explanations * Add motion graphics * Add text animations * Add diagrams and visual metaphors * Add sound effects * Add background music where appropriate * Create smooth transitions * Maintain viewer engagement throughout the video 2\. Short\-Form Content Turn long\-form videos into engaging: * YouTube Shorts * Instagram Reels * LinkedIn videos * X/Twitter clips You should be comfortable identifying: * Strong hooks * Interesting moments * Quotable statements * Surprising insights * 30–90 second standalone stories The goal isn't simply to cut a long video into smaller pieces. The short should feel like a **complete piece of content**. Technology \& AI Visual Storytelling This is particularly important for NeuGravity. When we explain something like: “What is an LLM?” we don't want the entire video to show a person talking. We may want: **Speaker → words appear → neural network animation → tokens → prediction → visual example → return to speaker** Similarly, when explaining: “What is an AI Agent?” we may want to visually show: **Goal → Planning → Tools → Action → Observation → Decision → Result** You should enjoy creating these kinds of visual explanations. Motion Graphics You should be comfortable creating basic\-to\-advanced motion graphics such as: * Kinetic typography * Animated diagrams * UI animations * Callouts * Arrows * Zooms * Highlight effects * Animated icons * Screen annotations * Timeline animations * Data visualizations * Concept animations * Transitions * Lower thirds * Chapter/title animations You don't need to create Pixar\-level animation. But you should know how to make a **technical concept visually interesting**. Screen Recording \& Software Content NeuGravity will frequently explain software, AI tools and technical concepts. You may work with: * Browser recordings * ChatGPT * AI tools * Developer tools * Terminal * VS Code * Cloud consoles * Websites * Product demos * Software interfaces You should know how to: * Zoom into important areas * Highlight UI elements * Blur sensitive information * Add cursor effects * Add keyboard/mouse indicators * Create smooth screen transitions * Make software demonstrations easy to follow Audio Editing Good audio is extremely important. You should be comfortable with: * Noise removal * EQ * Compression * De\-essing * Volume normalization * Removing background noise * Removing unwanted breaths/clicks where appropriate * Improving voice clarity * Syncing external audio * Background music mixing * Sound effects The final video should sound **clean and professional**. Visual Style NeuGravity's visual identity should feel: **Modern** Intelligent **Premium** Minimal **Tech\-forward** Think: * Modern technology channels * Premium SaaS product videos * AI/tech documentaries * High\-quality educational YouTube * Clean motion graphics * Strong typography * Cinematic storytelling Avoid excessive: Flashy transitions Random effects Overuse of emojis Cheap templates Unnecessary zooms Distracting animations Every visual should have a purpose. Tools Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: Video Editing * Adobe Premiere Pro * DaVinci Resolve * Final Cut Pro Motion Graphics * Adobe After Effects * Blender * Cavalry * Apple Motion Design * Figma * Photoshop * Illustrator Other * CapCut * Descript * Canva * AI video tools You don't need to know everything. **Strong editing \+ storytelling ability matters more than the number of tools on your resume.** AI Tools We are an AI\-focused content company, so familiarity with AI\-powered creative tools is a major advantage. Examples: * Runway * Kling * Veo * Sora * Midjourney * ChatGPT * Claude * ElevenLabs * AI voice/music tools * AI image generation * AI video generation You should be curious about experimenting with new tools. Technical Understanding You don't need to be a software engineer. However, you should be comfortable understanding basic concepts such as: * AI * LLM * Machine Learning * APIs * Cloud * Databases * Software * Programming * AI Agents Why? Because you'll need to understand **what the speaker is talking about before deciding how to visualize it.** Someone who understands technology will have a significant advantage. Your Responsibilities You will work closely with the content creator to: * Understand the script * Understand the story * Identify visual opportunities * Create an editing plan * Edit the first version * Add motion graphics * Add B\-roll * Add sound design * Review feedback * Deliver the final video * Create short\-form clips from long\-form content You may also participate in brainstorming: “How can we explain this concept visually?”What We Care About The most important metric isn't: **“How many effects did you add?”** It's: **Did the viewer keep watching?** We care about: * Viewer retention * First 30\-second engagement * Story flow * Clarity * Pacing * Visual storytelling * Audio quality * Overall production quality Ideal Candidate You may be a great fit if: * You genuinely enjoy YouTube * You understand modern content * You watch technology/AI content * You notice editing techniques while watching videos * You understand storytelling * You have strong visual instincts * You are curious about technology * You can work independently * You can take feedback positively * You care about details * You want to build something rather than just complete tasks Bonus Points Extra points if you have experience with: * Tech YouTube channels * Educational content * AI content * SaaS/product videos * Developer content * Explainer videos * Motion graphics * Documentary\-style editing * Short\-form content * YouTube retention optimization * Creating visual metaphors ❌ This Role May NOT Be For You If You primarily want to: * Just cut clips * Add basic subtitles * Apply preset transitions * Follow templates without thinking * Receive extremely detailed instructions for every edit At NeuGravity, we want an editor who can **think like a storyteller**. Freelance/contract opportunities are also available. What You'll Get You will have the opportunity to: * Work on an emerging technology education brand * Work directly with the founder * Build a technology\-focused content library * Experiment with AI video tools * Develop advanced motion graphics skills * Work on YouTube \+ short\-form content * Build a portfolio around AI and technology * Potentially grow into a **Video Lead / Creative Lead** role We are looking for someone who wants to **grow with the brand**, not simply edit videos. How to Apply Please send: 1\. Your Portfolio Share your **3–5 best videos**. Please include at least: * 1 long\-form video * 1 short\-form video * 1 video involving motion graphics, if available 2\. Tell us briefly: **Why do you think you would be a good fit for NeuGravity?** 3\. Mention: * Years of experience * Current location * Current/last compensation * Expected compensation * Availability / notice period * Editing software you use * Motion graphics experience * AI tools you have used 4\. Optional but highly valuable Send one example where you personally handled: **Raw footage → Editing → Motion graphics → Sound design → Final video** Selection ProcessRound 1 — Portfolio Review We review your previous work. Round 2 — Short Discussion 30\-minute discussion about: * Your editing process * Storytelling * YouTube * Motion graphics * AI/technology Round 3 — Paid Test Assignment You will receive a short NeuGravity recording. Your task will be to create a **60–90 second edited segment**. We will evaluate: * Storytelling * Pacing * Visual thinking * Motion graphics * Audio * Attention to detail * Understanding of the content **The test assignment will be paid.** About NeuGravity **NeuGravity is building a new way of learning technology.** Job Types: Full\-time, Part\-time, Internship Pay: $6,000\.00 \- $15,000\.00 per month Benefits: * Paid time off Application Question(s): * Please share some of your work? what is the best work you have done till date, according to you? * what was your last compensation? Experience: * total work: 1 year (Required) Work Location: Remote
