Associate Software Engineer – Node.js / Go (Golang)

Description:

Concept Solutions, LLC (CS) is seeking an Associate Software Engineer – Node.js / Go (Golang) to support a mission-critical application modernization and sustainment program for a Department of War (DoW) customer.

In this role, you will collaborate with experienced software engineers to develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise web applications that support critical federal operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to expand their technical expertise in Node.js, Go, and modern web technologies while contributing to a collaborative Agile development environment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects in web applications using React front ends and Node.js and Go backend services under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests to improve application quality, functionality, and reliability.
• Participate in software patching, maintenance cycles, and application releases.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and development team members to support ongoing application modernization and sustainment activities.
• Transition into the team's on-call support rotation following onboarding and training.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of backend software engineering experience using Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript) or Go (Golang); OR
• At least 2 years of backend development experience using another strongly typed programming language, with demonstrated Node.js or Go projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PostgreSQL databases.
• Familiarity with container technologies.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Work Location and Schedule

• Location: Remote
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The team operates in two-week sprints, with a customer demonstration at the end of each sprint.
• Travel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
• Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow for an earlier start.
• Compensation: $100,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience.
