BC/DR Engineer (Veeam/Azure GCC)

**Azure DR Engineer (Veeam/Azure GCC)** **Pay**: $90\-100/hr. **Location**: Fully remote in US. **Part\-time**: 20\-30 hours per week **Temporary**: 12 weeks in total. *\*\*Due to U.S. defense\-contracting and export\-control requirements for this engagement, the role is open only to U.S. Persons who will perform the work from within the United States for the full duration of the assignment.\*\** **Job Summary** The Remote Engineer is the sole technical resource delivering the client's move of Disaster Recovery from a collocated datacenter into its Azure GCC Standard tenant. The target is completion by November 20, 2026, ahead of the Client’s hard deadline of December 31, 2026\. The engineer designs the solution, writes the build specifications the Client and a Client\-Designated Provider build to, and validates everything they deliver. The engineer then configures Veeam backup copies of 80 production VMs to Azure Blob Storage, seeds the \~35TB full backup set over VPN, and deploys Veeam Recovery Orchestrator for automated monthly test restores of five critical VMs. This is a three\-party delivery on a fixed\-scope, pre\-paid hour bucket. The role needs an engineer who can hold other parties to a written spec, run a formal acceptance gate, and protect the hour budget without damaging the client relationship. Because the work is performed inside a government contractor’s GCC tenant, the engineer must be a US Person located on US soil. **Required Qualifications:** * US Person located on US soil for the duration of the engagement, with willingness to be recorded in the delivery attestation. * 7\+ years in infrastructure, backup and recovery, or cloud engineering, including 3\+ years designing and implementing Veeam solutions * Hands\-on Veeam Backup \& Replication v12 experience: backup copy jobs, Scale\-Out Backup Repositories with object storage capacity tier, and configuration backup and restore migrations * Hands\-on Veeam Recovery Orchestrator deployment: recovery plans, network mapping, boot order and scheduled testing * Azure IaaS experience with Blob Storage (immutability, versioning, lifecycle), VNets, NSGs, Azure DNS, RBAC and Managed Identities or Service Principals * Experience in Azure Government or GCC environments, or equivalent regulated cloud tenants * Large\-dataset seeding over WAN/VPN, including throughput measurement and job tuning * Windows Server 2022 administration and working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server as an application back end * Proven ability to write build specifications and acceptance criteria that another team builds to, and to validate delivered work objectively * Strong technical writing for runbooks, test plans and configuration guides * Clear, professional communication with client engineers and third parties through a single coordination channel **Preferred Qualifications:** * Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE); Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA) a plus * Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ\-104\) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ\-305\) * Experience supporting government contractors, with familiarity with CMMC, NIST SP 800\-171 or DFARS 7012 environments (assessment work itself is out of scope) * Prior fixed\-scope professional services delivery with hour\-bucket tracking and Change Request discipline * Experience with Azure Data Box seeding, in case the fallback is invoked * Site\-to\-site VPN and ExpressRoute troubleshooting experience * Experience producing audit or compliance evidence records of administrative activity Join us if you’re passionate about safeguarding vital digital assets through innovative BC/DR and storage solutions!
