Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Paralegal (Remote, Contract)

We are a U.S.-based, fully remote bankruptcy support firm. We prepare petitions, schedules, and plans behind the scenes for bankruptcy attorneys across the country. Our business bankruptcy work is growing, and we're adding an experienced Chapter 11 paralegal to the team.

How pay works

Chapter 11 and Subchapter V work is paid hourly at $45 to $54 per hour, with the top of the range for highly qualified candidates. This is 1099 contract work with flexible hours and flexible volume.

What you'll do

• Prepare Chapter 11 petitions, schedules, and Statements of Financial Affairs for business and individual debtors, including Subchapter V cases
• Draft first day motions, cash collateral and DIP financing motions, and proposed orders
• Prepare Monthly Operating Reports and track U.S. Trustee reporting deadlines
• Help draft plans of reorganization and disclosure statements
• Review claims registers and prepare claim objections
• Track deadlines, hearings, the Initial Debtor Interview, and 341 meeting requirements
• Work inside the attorney's software (Best Case, Jubilee, or NextChapter) and return clean, review-ready work for the attorney to review, sign, and file

What we look for

• 4+ years of hands-on Chapter 11 paralegal experience (Subchapter V experience is a big plus)
• Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, and U.S. Trustee guidelines
• CM/ECF experience
• Fluency in Best Case, Jubilee, or NextChapter
• Comfortable reading business financials: balance sheets, P\&Ls, bank statements, and tax returns
• Detail oriented, organized, and dependable with deadlines
• U.S.-based, with a reliable internet connection and a private workspace

How it works

1099 contract, fully remote, U.S.-based only. All work is performed under the supervision of the client attorney.
