Field Service Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on Field Service Engineer to lead the end-to-end deployment of our advanced hardware and software solutions - from initial configuration through to final onsite commissioning.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will spearhead the end-to-end deployment of our hardware and software solutions. You’ll serve as the lead technical expert on-site, overseeing everything from initial configuration to final commissioning. This role bridges the gap between our internal engineering teams and our customers, ensuring every installation is reliable, high-performing, and executed to the highest standards.

Location: Remote with travel (East coast preferred, must be one hour from int. airport)

Schedule: Standard

Compensation: $75-115k+ OT, Stipends, Bonus, and Incentives

Field Service Engineer Requirements/Competencies:

• Target Industry Experience: 3+ years of field service or commissioning experience supporting critical power systems, industrial facilities, or complex electrical infrastructure.
• Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field (or 3+ years of equivalent hands-on experience deploying industrial hardware/software platforms).
• Power \& Equipment Aptitude: Solid technical familiarity with low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, power distribution units, and metering hardware.
• OT \& Industrial Networking: Practical experience configuring and troubleshooting industrial protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, TCP/IP, OPC UA, MQTT).
• Execution \& Autonomy: Strong problem-solving abilities with the skill to safely navigate live electrical environments and work independently at customer facilities.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills to deliver technical training, guide facility personnel, and present operational data clearly.
• Travel: Ability and willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%) to client sites.

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities:

Installation, Configuration \& Commissioning

• Execute on-site installation, network addressing, fine-tuning, and commissioning of monitoring hardware and localized software applications.
• Conduct standard functional and acceptance testing to ensure data accuracy aligns with technical requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve communication, configuration, and hardware issues encountered during deployment.
• Ensure all field activities comply with company safety guidelines, site policies, and applicable industry safety codes.

Customer Engagement \& Site Consultation

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for customer engineering and operations teams during rollout.
• Provide clear technical guidance and training to customer staff on system operations and software navigation.
• Deliver routine project updates and milestone progress reports to internal managers and external stakeholders.

Technical Documentation \& Product Feedback

• Author detailed site reports tracking network maps, setup configurations, firmware versions, and site conditions.
• Maintain accurate service logs, calibration records, and compliance documentation for all field actions.
• Share field observations and technical insights with engineering teams to help drive product improvements.

Cross-Functional Synergy

• Partner with Project Management, Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure smooth project handoffs.
• Assist in updating deployment checklists, testing procedures, and standard operating documents.
• Support team knowledge-sharing by mentoring peers on technical troubleshooting and field practices.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
