Full-Charge Bookkeeper — Moving Company (Full-Time, Remote)

**Ox Strong Moving is hiring an experienced Full\-Charge Bookkeeper to own the numbers for a fast\-growing Florida moving company.** We were named the \#1 fastest\-growing moving company by Inc. 5000\. We run six Florida locations plus a growing franchise network, and we are bringing our accounting fully in\-house. This is a full\-time role — fully remote. You will be the only accounting person in the company. You will own the books, run payroll, collect money we are owed, and hand our leadership team a clean weekly scoreboard. **What you'll own** *The weekly scoreboard.* Produce a weekly P\&L by location with week\-over\-week variances, plus payroll spend as a percentage of revenue by branch. Delivered Monday morning, every Monday. *Payroll.* Weekly payroll across multiple entities. Pull crew hours from our time\-clock system, verify overtime, hourly adjustments and reimbursement time before you run it, and onboard new hires to payroll. *Money in.* Confirm that every job we complete actually gets paid — that all payments land in the correct bank account, that cash gets logged, and that nothing quietly falls through. Handle credit card chargebacks and support the claims process. *Invoicing.* Monthly invoicing to our franchisees and corporate accounts, plus collections on anything outstanding. *Cost control.* Keep an eye on all charges. Flag fuel card anomalies, unused storage units, unused subscriptions, and vendor invoices that look wrong — and when one does, be able to negotiate it down. Also eye important recurring costs such as costs for truck leases versus rents, or why our packing materials cost more than we charge for them. *Compliance.* Bank and credit card reconciliations, month\-end close, Florida sales and use tax returns, and clean records. **How we use AI here** We use AI as a real part of the work. QuickBooks Online now connects directly to Claude and ChatGPT — that means pulling a balance sheet, A/R and A/P aging, or a P\&L on demand, drafting invoices, and cross\-checking what we billed against what we quoted. Our leadership team uses Claude and ChatGPT every day, and we expect the same from this role. What that means for you: less time assembling reports, more time on judgment, collections, and the cost work that actually saves us money. The tool finds the discrepancy. You decide what it means and what to do about it. You do not need to be an AI expert. You do need to be willing to use these tools and sharp enough to check their work. AI does not replace accounting knowledge or good judgment, and nothing it produces goes to leadership without your review. **What we're looking for** * 3\+ years of full\-charge bookkeeping — you have owned a full set of books through financial statements * Strong QuickBooks Online * Comfortable with multi\-location/entity payroll in QBO * You understand why a payroll week spanning June 28–July 4 has to be split across two months * Hands\-on payroll processing for hourly employees, including overtime and time\-clock reconciliation * Experience with a crew time\-clock system (we use Connecteam) * Comfortable working across multiple entities without ever combining or misclassifying them * Strong Excel / Google Sheets * Comfortable using AI assistants — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini — as part of your daily workflow, and fully aware about what customer, employee and banking information should never be entered into them * Excellent written and verbal English communication — you will be presenting numbers directly to our owner and leadership team * Highly responsive. If we text you asking for a report, we need to hear back quickly. * Strong negotiating skills (Ex.: telling a vendor their invoice is wrong and negotiating price down) **Nice to have** * Experience in moving, home services, trades, logistics, or another multi\-location field\-service business * Multi\-entity or franchise accounting * Familiarity with SmartMoving, Samsara, or WEX fuel cards * Experience connecting QuickBooks Online to Claude or ChatGPT * Workflow automation (Zapier, Make) to cut manual re\-keying between systems that don't talk to each other * Comfortable recording a Loom to document how a report gets run * QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification **How we work** You will flag problems and resolve ones directly related to accounting; our operations team fixes the rest. When you see six unleaded fuel transactions on a diesel fleet, your job is to catch it and tell the Director of Operations immediately. You do not need to know the moving business on day one — we will teach you our operation. We need you to know accounting at a high level and to be relentless about accuracy. **About trust in this role** You will have visibility into our bank accounts, payroll, and customer payments. A background check and reference checks are part of our final step for this position — this role prepares and reconciles, ownership approves payment releases, new vendors and transfers. **Details** * **Pay:** $23–$30/hour, depending on experience * **Hours:** Full\-time, 30\-40 hours per week, Monday–Friday Eastern business hours * **Location:** Fully remote, U.S. based * **Growth:** We are growing fast.
