Family Restoration seeks to restore optimal health to the body, mind, and spirit. In this respect, our mission is to offer youth and families restorative counsel to repair dysfunctional homes, build healthy familial relationships, and to curb negative behaviors and attitudes through fitness and nutritional activities, therapeutic interventions and community partnering.
Family Restoration Services is seeking a skilled and proactive Grant Writer (Contract Position) to support our mission of expanding therapeutic and community‑based programming for youth and families. We are specifically looking for someone with experience accessing SWAM‑funded opportunities, government grants, and funding streams that support foster youth, court‑involved youth, and families engaged with DSS.
This contractor will play a critical role in helping FRS secure sustainable funding outside of insurance reimbursement, allowing us to deliver high‑impact services to vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant Research \& Identification - Identify federal, state, local, and SWAM‑eligible funding opportunities aligned with FRS programming, especially those supporting foster youth, court‑involved youth, and family‑centered services.
- Grant Writing \& Submission - Prepare compelling grant proposals, applications, letters of intent, and supporting documentation to secure new funding streams.
- Program Alignment \& Strategy - Assess funding requirements and ensure proposed programming aligns with grant criteria, community needs, and FRS service capabilities .
- Funding Pipeline Development - Build and maintain a calendar of grant cycles, deadlines, and submission requirements to ensure timely applications.
- Collaboration \& Communication - Work closely with FRS leadership to gather program data, clarify service models, and ensure accuracy in all submissions.
- Outcome Tracking - Track submitted applications, follow up with funders, and report on award status and future opportunities.
EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated experience writing and securing grants (government, foundation, or SWAM‑funded).
- Strong understanding of human services, youth programming, or foster‑care‑related initiatives preferred.
- Ability to research funding opportunities independently and present findings clearly.
- Excellent writing, organization, and deadline management skills.
- Familiarity with government portals, grant systems, and compliance requirements.
- Strong research skills to identify new funding opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
Join Family Restoration Services (FRS) in expanding life‑changing programs for youth and families. This contract role is ideal for a motivated professional who understands SWAM‑funded and government grant opportunities and is passionate about advancing services for vulnerable populations.
