Job Description

**ob Overview** IMPORTANT: This role is for an experienced long\-form journalist. Apply only if you have published narrative features in national magazines or newspapers. We publish a daily letter that tells readers what happened in the financial markets and why. Most market coverage is written for traders, in jargon, and forgotten by lunch. The writer we want has the caliber found at The New Yorker, The Atlantic, or the Financial Times, with the craft to make a bond auction read like a scene and the discipline to do it every weekday. **Your Work** * Write one letter of about 1,000\-2,000 words each trading day, after the 4 p.m. Eastern close. * Turn the day's prices, reports, and politics into a single narrative with a beginning, a middle, and an end. * Bring history into the present, so a reader sees how 1979 or 2008 explains this afternoon. * Find the people in the numbers, and let them speak through well\-chosen quotes. * Verify each fact and cite a source for it. * Collaborate with our editor on a short round of revisions each evening. **Our Offer** * Sourced research briefs every afternoon, so your hours go to writing. * An editor who protects your voice. * Readers who open the letter as a daily habit. * Fully remote work **Who You Are** * A journalist with at least fiveyears of long\-form work and clips to prove it. * Curious about money, power, and economic history, with enough market knowledge to explain a yield or a rate hike plainly. * Fast, since a magazine sentence must arrive on a newspaper deadline. * Exact with facts and generous with context. * Steady five days a week, including the days when the news breaks late. Pay: $25\.00 \- $100\.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
