Marketing \& Community Relations Specialist

**Reports To:** Administrator / Executive Leadership
**Schedule:** As Assigned / Based on Agency Marketing Needs
Position Summary
The **Marketing \& Community Relations Specialist** is responsible for promoting the agency’s healthcare and behavioral health services throughout the community, developing and maintaining professional partnerships, identifying new referral and marketing opportunities, and increasing community awareness of available services.
This position serves as a professional representative of the agency and works to establish positive relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, social service agencies, businesses, referral sources, and other potential community partners. The Marketing \& Community Relations Specialist is also responsible for maintaining accurate records of marketing activities, community contacts, partnerships, and outreach efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Marketing \& Community Relations Specialist will:
* Attend administrative staff meetings as needed and when requested by agency leadership.
* Market and promote the agency’s healthcare, behavioral health, and community\-based services to appropriate community organizations and referral sources.
* Identify and visit potential marketing and referral sites within the community when available and appropriate.
* Research **local, national, and global partnership, outreach, networking, and marketing opportunities** that may support the agency's mission, services, growth, and community presence.
* Utilize agency\-approved brochures, flyers, presentations, digital materials, and other marketing resources when representing the agency.
* Initiate contact with prospective community partners, referral sources, healthcare organizations, and other agencies.
* Schedule, coordinate, and attend marketing and community partnership meetings.
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with community agencies, healthcare providers, schools, social service organizations, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and other appropriate community partners.
* Maintain regular communication with established community partners and referral sources.
* Assist with strengthening existing community partnerships and identifying opportunities for new collaborations.
* Maintain current and accurate information regarding community resources that may benefit agency clients.
* Develop and submit a **detailed weekly marketing plan** identifying projected marketing sites, outreach activities, scheduled meetings, follow\-up activities, and partnership opportunities.
* Maintain an organized tracking system of all community sites contacted or visited.
* Document marketing activities, contacts, meetings, referrals, outreach efforts, partnership development activities, and follow\-up needs.
* Track the status and outcomes of community outreach and marketing efforts.
* Conduct appropriate follow\-up with community organizations and prospective partners.
* Represent the agency professionally and communicate the agency's services accurately and consistently.
* Protect confidential and proprietary agency information and maintain appropriate professional boundaries when interacting with clients, referral sources, and community partners.
* Follow agency policies and procedures applicable to marketing, confidentiality, professional conduct, and community relations.
* Complete additional marketing and community relations duties as assigned.
Marketing \& Community Outreach Documentation
The Marketing \& Community Relations Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of outreach activities. Documentation may include:
* Organization or community site name
* Contact person's name and contact information
* Date of initial contact
* Date of site visit or meeting
* Services or programs discussed
* Marketing materials distributed
* Potential referral or partnership opportunities
* Follow\-up date and required actions
* Partnership/referral status
* Outcome of outreach activities
Weekly marketing reports and tracking documentation must be submitted according to agency\-established procedures and deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
The Marketing \& Community Relations Specialist must:
* Possess a **high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential**.
* Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrate professionalism when communicating with community organizations, healthcare professionals, referral sources, and members of the public.
* Possess basic computer and electronic communication skills.
* Have working knowledge of **Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel**, including the ability to maintain basic tracking documents and reports.
* Have access to a reliable email account and computer.
* Have access to a functional printer when required to perform assigned duties.
* Have access to a reliable cellular phone for business\-related communication.
* Be able to organize, document, and track multiple community contacts and marketing activities.
* Be dependable, organized, self\-motivated, and capable of completing assigned responsibilities with limited supervision.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate:
* Previous marketing, outreach, sales, healthcare, behavioral health, or community relations experience.
* Knowledge of local healthcare and social service resources.
* Experience developing professional partnerships or referral relationships.
* Strong interpersonal and networking abilities.
* Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and professional organizations.
* Strong organizational and time\-management skills.
* Ability to identify creative opportunities for increasing community awareness and agency referrals.
Independent Contractor Status
This position is structured as an **independent contractor position**. The contractor is responsible for fulfilling the services and deliverables established in the applicable Independent Contractor Agreement and for maintaining the equipment, communication resources, and other tools necessary to perform contracted services, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
Nothing contained in this job description is intended to alter the terms of the Independent Contractor Agreement or create an employer\-employee relationship. Contractor classification and working arrangements will be maintained in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements.
Performance Expectations
Performance may be evaluated based on the contractor's ability to:
* Consistently complete assigned marketing and outreach activities.
* Submit weekly marketing plans and required documentation.
* Maintain accurate community\-site and partnership tracking records.
* Establish and maintain productive community relationships.
* Conduct timely follow\-up with prospective and existing partners.
* Professionally represent the agency and its services.
* Identify new opportunities to expand community awareness and referral relationships.
* Meet established marketing and community outreach goals and deliverables.

Pay: $16,800\.00 \- $42,000\.00 per year
