Job Description

Index Analytics, LLC delivers mission-critical health, data, technology and consulting solutions for the federal government. We foster a collaborative, employee-focused culture that supports professional growth, continuous learning, flexibility and meaningful work that improves public outcomes.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Index Analytics is seeking a Scrum Master to coach Agile teams delivering digital products for federal clients. This servant-leader role facilitates SAFe and team-level ceremonies, removes impediments, improves delivery flow and uses meaningful metrics to help teams become increasingly predictable, collaborative and self-organizing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate iteration planning, daily team syncs, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives and Innovation and Planning events.
  • Support Program Increment planning and execution, including objectives, risks, dependencies, capacity and cross-team coordination.
  • Coach teams and Product Owners on Agile values, SAFe practices, backlog health, acceptance criteria, Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
  • Track flow, velocity, throughput, predictability, work in progress and other relevant metrics; use trends to guide improvement rather than individual performance assessment.
  • Identify and remove impediments, escalate systemic risks and coordinate dependencies across teams and stakeholders.
  • Promote DevSecOps, built-in quality, acceptance test-driven development and continuous improvement practices.
  • Support transparent status reporting, release readiness, risk management and stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to improve practices across the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least six (6) years of professional experience, including three (3) or more years leading or coaching Agile delivery teams.
  • Prior experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Team Coach in a software delivery environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, backlog management, dependency management and Agile metrics.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or comparable delivery tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and communicate with technical teams, business stakeholders and government clients.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, Certified ScrumMaster, or comparable certification.
  • Experience facilitating distributed or remote teams.
  • Experience with Salesforce, DevOps, Copado, customer-facing web or mobile applications, or analytics products.
  • Prior CMS, Medicaid, Medicare, or other federal agency experience.

WORK AUTHORIZATION AND CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Where required by the assigned work, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a federal client badge and successfully complete a Public Trust background investigation.

LOCATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is remote-first and open to candidates residing in the United States. Occasional travel and on-site presence may be required to support client meetings, project activities, training, or other organizational needs. Standard business hours are aligned with Eastern Time; however, availability outside normal business hours may occasionally be required for releases, incidents, deadlines, surge support, or other business-critical situations.

COMPENSATION

The salary range provided represents the anticipated compensation for this role and applies across all geographic locations. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, internal equity and market conditions.

In addition to a competitive base salary, Index Analytics offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement savings options, discretionary bonus opportunities and reimbursement for professional development and continuing education.
