Supervising Video Editor

As Lead Video Editor, you’ll blend hands-on editing of high-priority projects with strategic oversight—guiding a talented team of video editors, setting creative standards, and ensuring every cut meets the highest bar for storytelling, technical quality, and brand integrity.

You’ll collaborate closely with producers and editorial teams to bring compelling stories to life, mentor editors to elevate their craft, and continuously refine workflows for efficiency and creative excellence. Embracing the latest in video trends and AI-powered tools, you’ll help us deliver innovative, audience-first video experiences across platforms—while always upholding the trusted, human-centered storytelling that defines McClatchy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university preferred; ideally in Film Production, Video Production, Media Production, or the equivalent education, experience, skills and knowledge needed to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position.
• Five years of experience in entertainment journalism, digital media, or related fields.

##### The anticipated base salary range for this position is between 95k - 105k annually. Individual base pay may vary within that range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, department equity, training, geography, and local wage and hours laws.
