Job Description
Technical Automation Lead | Contract-to-Hire | Stache Cups
Remote | Immediate start | Paid implementation engagement, with a path to full-time employment
START AND LAUNCH PRIORITY
We need someone available to start immediately and work directly with founder Bo Wicker through the October 30-November 1 weekend toward a substantial launch on Monday, November 2, 2026. Please state your earliest start time in Eastern time, specific weekend working blocks, and what you can realistically deliver by November 2. The launch phase is an intensive, separately paid engagement with agreed extended/weekend coverage, scope, hours and a spending cap established before work starts.
THE OPPORTUNITY
I'm Bo, Founder and CEO of Stache Cups. We manufacture custom drinkware and already have customers, production infrastructure, an established creative team and demand for our products. We are connecting an automated e-commerce infrastructure for schools, country clubs, Greek organizations, corporations, resorts and other markets.
A substantial amount has already been developed: AI intake processes, Photoshop templates, Blender scenes and rendering systems, Shopify infrastructure and AWS deployments. We need a resourceful technical owner to connect the existing components, resolve the remaining gaps, make the operation reliable and maintain it as we scale. Preserve working components and approved designs.
Our targets are 40+ new storefronts per day per market and ultimately 1,000+ per week. These are scaling goals, not demonstrated current throughput or guaranteed results. Schools and Clubs come first, followed by Greek and Promo.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Connect existing intake, template execution, asset handoffs, rendering, Shopify publication and validation into reliable workflows.
- Run and monitor production queues; handle failures, safe retries, interrupted jobs, duplicate prevention, logging and recovery.
- Maintain Shopify and AWS infrastructure, troubleshoot operating issues and ensure each completed storefront has the correct identity, artwork, products and configuration.
- Integrate new collections and products supplied by the creative team, extend the workflows to additional markets and help develop the main Stache Cups e-commerce site.
- Establish measurable QA, throughput, manual-touch and cost reporting; distinguish complete storefront delivery from individual component successes.
- Communicate directly, identify dependencies early and take responsibility for technical execution and ongoing operations.
ALL DESIGN IS HANDLED BY OUR CREATIVE TEAM
Our creative team handles all artwork, product designs, Photoshop masters, Blender scenes, banners and other visual assets. You will not be responsible for creative design and do not need to be a graphic designer.
Your role is to automate, execute, integrate and maintain their approved work. Many templates support JSON, Python or other scripted changes. Others may need AI-assisted substitutions for the correct organization logo, name, event details or customer information. Make these existing processes repeatable and reliable while preserving approved creative assets and product dimensions.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Strong hands-on experience with Python, APIs, AWS, Shopify, workflow orchestration, AI tools and production automation. Experience scripting or operating Photoshop and Blender automation is especially valuable. We are interested in capable engineers who can learn and manage the existing processes, demonstrate relevant work, troubleshoot independently and take ownership without constant supervision.
COMPENSATION AND GROWTH
We begin with a paid hands-on implementation engagement. Its fee, scope, hours, acceptance criteria and cap will be agreed in writing before work starts; the annual salary below describes the proposed post-launch employee role, not the initial contract fee.
Once the system is operational, the goal is to transition the right person into a full-time position with:
- $40,000-$50,000 starting annual salary.
- A 40-hour workweek after launch.
- Paid time off and paid holidays.
- Proposed performance compensation linked to qualifying automated e-commerce sales.
- Opportunities for salary increases and advancement as the operation grows.
We are considering a proposed, time-limited revenue-linked incentive of up to 5% of qualifying automated e-commerce sales after agreed deductions such as applicable taxes, payment-processing fees, hosting/server costs, refunds and amounts owed to fundraising organizations or participating clubs. This is not a guaranteed or indefinite 5% entitlement. Eligibility, exact calculation, duration/end date, payment timing and scheduled compensation reviews will require a written agreement before any incentive begins. The intended growth path is to transition some or all of that incentive into a higher guaranteed salary by mutual written agreement. Employment conversion and future compensation are subject to a separate written agreement.
We want the person who builds and manages this infrastructure to benefit meaningfully from its success and grow into long-term technical leadership.
HOW TO APPLY
Tell us:
1. Your earliest start time in Eastern time and your availability to work directly with Bo through this weekend toward the November 2 launch.
2. Your own relevant Python/API/AWS/Shopify and Photoshop/Blender automation work, with an attributable example and your personal role.
3. What complete Schools/Clubs deliverables you could realistically commit to by November 2, the dependencies, and a capped quote for the initial paid engagement.
4. Your interest in the proposed contract-to-hire compensation structure and longer-term 40-hour role.
5. Your weekly working availability, any supporting team, and the tools/costs included in your proposal.
Please distinguish demonstrated production results from estimates. We are looking for someone excited to take ownership and grow with an established manufacturing business.
