Our live, interactive classes bring together small groups of students with similar academic abilities, creating an engaging environment where children develop reading comprehension, communication skills, critical thinking, and confidence.

We are looking for enthusiastic elementary educators who love children's literature and enjoy helping young readers become confident thinkers and speakers.

Position Overview

As an Elementary Reading \& Book Club Teacher, you will lead small-group online classes for students in Grades 1–5.

Our classes emphasize reading comprehension, literary discussion, critical thinking, and verbal expression.

You will guide students through age-appropriate novels and help them understand characters, themes, story structure, and important ideas through interactive discussion.

Class Format

• Small-group classes, typically 3–5 students
• 50-minute live sessions via Zoom
• Weekly classes following an 8-week curriculum
• Reading materials and instructional resources provided

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging, interactive discussions about assigned books.
• Strengthen students' reading comprehension, vocabulary, and verbal expression.
• Encourage students to express opinions and support them with examples from the text.
• Ask age-appropriate, open-ended questions to develop critical thinking.
• Create a welcoming environment where every student participates.
• Adapt instruction to students with varying levels of English proficiency.
• Provide brief, meaningful feedback on student participation and progress.
• Communicate with the SOAR KIDZ academic team as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field, or current enrollment in an education degree program.
• Experience teaching or tutoring elementary-aged children.
• Excellent English communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to lead engaging, discussion-based online lessons.
• Comfortable using Zoom and digital teaching tools.
• Reliable internet connection with at least 8 Mbps upload and download speeds.
• Ability to commit to a consistent teaching schedule for at least 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or former U.S. elementary school teacher.
• Able to teach Weekends (Extra Incentives will be provided)
• Valid teaching credential.
• Experience teaching Reading, Literacy, or English Language Arts.
• Experience with literature circles, guided reading, or book clubs.
• Familiarity with supporting English Language Learners (ELLs).

Schedule \& Compensation

• $30–40 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
• Eligible teachers may earn performance-based incentives, based on class ratings and student attendance.
• Flexible part-time scheduling with consistent weekly classes.
• Some opportunities are available during early-morning U.S. Eastern Time hours to accommodate international students.
• Company-provided lesson materials and onboarding.
