Job Description
Collaborative Office Interiors (COI) is a Houston commercial office furniture dealership. We have furnished more than 10,000 Houston offices, including projects for Samsung, Apple, Foxconn, the Houston Texans, NASA and BakerRipley. Our website, https://collaborative-office.com, is our main source of new business, and we are hiring a remote WordPress specialist to keep it fast, stable and converting.
This is not a design-from-scratch role. The site is built and ranking. We need someone who can own the day-to-day technical upkeep of a WordPress/WooCommerce site, fix problems quickly, carry out well-defined improvements without breaking what already works, and help us turn more of our visitors into quote requests, calls and chats.
What you will do
- Maintain and troubleshoot a WordPress site running WooCommerce, Elementor, a custom theme, Rank Math, Gravity Forms, LiteSpeed Cache, Perfmatters and Cloudflare
- Build and edit pages and templates in Elementor, and make theme-level changes in PHP, HTML and CSS when needed
- Manage WooCommerce product pages, categories, pricing updates, shipping and tax settings, and the Stripe checkout
- Conversion rate optimization (CRO): improve how the site turns visitors into leads, including quote forms, popups, click-to-call buttons, live chat triggers, calls to action and landing pages
- Run A/B tests and track results using tools such as Google Optimize alternatives, Microsoft Clarity heatmaps and session recordings, and GA4 conversion reports
- Review form drop-off, page scroll depth and mobile behavior, then propose and build fixes that lift form submissions, calls and chats
- Keep the site fast: page speed, caching, image optimization, Core Web Vitals
- Keep the site healthy: plugin and core updates, staging tests before changes go live, backups, uptime, error logs, and fixing JavaScript or PHP errors
- Support our SEO work: sitemaps, redirects, schema, meta data in Rank Math, internal linking and crawl issues
- Keep lead tracking working: Gravity Forms, Google Tag Manager, GA4 events and call tracking, so every conversion is measured
- Work from a shared task list, give clear status updates, and document what you change
What we are looking for
- 3 or more years of hands-on WordPress experience, including at least 1 year with WooCommerce
- Strong Elementor skills, including templates, popups and custom CSS
- Working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript, enough to safely edit a custom theme and write small code snippets
- Proven CRO experience on a lead-generation or ecommerce site: you can point to changes you made and the lift in conversions they produced
- Comfortable reading GA4, Microsoft Clarity or Hotjar data and turning it into concrete page changes
- Experience with caching and performance plugins (LiteSpeed Cache or similar) and with Cloudflare
- Familiarity with Rank Math or Yoast and with Google Search Console
- Comfortable with cPanel or Hostinger-style hosting, file managers, staging sites and backups
- Clear written English and the discipline to test before pushing changes live
- Available for some overlap with Central Time business hours
Nice to have
- Experience with Google Tag Manager and GA4 event setup
- Experience with A/B testing tools (VWO, Convert, Optimizely or similar) on WordPress
- Experience optimizing WooCommerce product pages and checkout for conversion
- Experience with Google Merchant Center product feeds
- Experience with lead-generation or B2B service websites
- Experience with Code Snippets, WP-CLI or the WordPress REST API
